New Guidelines for a Sustainable Harbour

The Harbour Business Forum has designed Guidelines for a Sustainable Harbour. The guidelines highlight recommendations for the physical design and development of individual projects and broader planning efforts across the entire harbour.

The guidelines are intended to represent the views of the business community, with the ultimate ambition of using the enhancement of the harbour to build Hong Kong's competitive advantage in the region. It is hoped that these guidelines will inspire best practice in harbour development by both the broader community and government. In particular, they have been structured around the three pillars of sustainable development- Society (Access), Economics and the Environment - to encourage integrated planning.
